Overbridge Refurbishment, Murrurundi

Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) is undertaking overbridge refurbishment works in Murrurundi, as part of the NSW Government’s rail infrastructure program across the country rail network.

Works are being completed by TfNSW’s contractor, John Holland Rail (JHR). JHR operate and maintain the Country Regional Network across NSW under a ten year contract with TfNSW.

Why is the work being completed?

The bridge has deteriorating timber elements which need to be replaced to extend the life span and keep existing bridge operational to local traffic.

Works involve replacing timber beams and deckboards.

When will work commence?

Works are currently scheduled to commence in the week commencing 11 February 2019 and will be completed by the end of April 2019, subject to final approvals and weather conditions.

Site operations will run from

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 6:00pm
  • Saturday to Sunday: 7:00am to 6:00pm

How will I be affected?

There will be increased plant and vehicle movements and construction noise during the works.

Access across Railway lines shall be at level crossing Polding Street as the bridge will be closed to traffic during works.

Traffic controls will be in place with notifications in place on both Haydon Street and Pages River Road.
