Rail Culvert Works, Orange

The next phase of the Orange City Council Southern Link Cycleway works involves the installation of a culvert under the rail line on the Country Regional Network.

John Holland Rail (JHR) have been engaged as the rail infrastructure contractor to complete the culvert works.

What do the works involve?

The works involve installation of a culvert under the Orange Junction to Parkes railway line to connect through the back of James Sheahan School.

When will work commence?

Works will to coincide with the scheduled shutdown of the rail network on the 7, 8 and 9 March 2018, with preliminary and finalisation works happening in the week before and after those days:

  •          Crews will be on site from 1 – 15 March 2018, with working hours from 6:00am – 6:00pm each day. Additonal noise and traffic can be expected during this time.

  •          24 hour working will be in place from 6:00am on Wednesday 7 March, until 6:00pm on Friday 9 March.

Work outside of standard working hours is required to minimise the disruption to the rail network and the duration of the works for the local community.

How will I be affected?

You may hear construction noise during site operations and see some extra vehicle and heavy machinery movements in the area. We will endeavour to minimise the impact to the community wherever possible, during the works.
