Track Maintenance - Nyngan (UPDATE)

Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) is undergoing track maintenance work in Nyngan rail yard as part of the NSW Government’s rail infrastructure program across the country rail network.

Works are being completed by TfNSW’s contractor, John Holland. John Holland operate and maintain the Country Regional Network across NSW under a ten-year contract with TfNSW.

Why is the work being completed?

The railway lines require maintenance to ensure continued safe passage of trains along the railway line and safe access for the community.

When will work commence?

Following works commencing on 20 August,   24-hour work will take place between 10 and 18 December 2019, subject to final approvals and weather conditions.

24-hour work will commence at 6.00am on Tuesday 10 December and will continue until 6.00pm on Wednesday 18 December 2019.

How will I be affected?

All maintenance activity will remain within the rail corridor. There is potential for noise from the work, and there may be some extra vehicle and heavy machinery movements in the area.

We will endeavour to minimise the impact to the community wherever possible, during the works period.
